7 CNY Flower Markets to Visit in Shenzhen

It’s tradition for Chinese Southerners to stroll around flower markets and enjoy 'flower shows' during the Chinese New Year. Next week, seven flower markets in Shenzhen will open to visitors from all over the world. Camellia and China rose shows are just around the corner as well.

Here's an overview of dates and addresses for flower shows and markets happening this month.

The 12th Annual Camellia Flower Show

See: Over 200 types of camellias and about 1,500 flowers  
When: Feb 10-Mar 5

2018 China Rose Flower Show

See: Over 100 types of China roses and about 40,000 flowers. A unique China rose with a diameter of two meters will be displayed for the first time.

Futian Agricultural Products Wholesale Market

A small market with potted flowers, spider plants and succulents.  
When: Feb 11-15  
Nearest metro: Meijing (Exit C), 7 minutes

Dutch Flower Town (Nanshan District)

A great place to take photos, with an 'exotic' atmosphere and numerous flowers.  
Dates: Feb 11-15  
Nearest metro: Daxin (Exit B), 18 minutes

Bibo Yi Jie 碧波一街 (Luohu District)

Find a collection of stalls selling arrangements as well as other New Year's goodies.  
Dates: Feb 11-15
Nearest metro: Yijing (Exit D), 12 minutes


Fuzhongfu Flower World (Bao'an District)

A market five times as large as the one in Futian, with a bonsai garden and small stores.  
Dates: Feb 10-15
Nearest metro: Bao'an Stadium (Exit B), 9 minutes

Longhua Culture Square Er Lu (by Longhua Culture Square)

Located in between a shopping mall and an arts center, this street selling flowers, fruit and more is on the eastern edge of Longhua Square.

Elite Import Center (Yantian District)

With flowers like azaleas, peonies and hyacinths, the market offers plenty of potential Chinese New Year purchases.

Irises, chrysanthemums and potted flowers are available in the market. A large parking lot is nearby.
